A. It would be hard to do without any appliances, for the simple reason that they're designed to be hidden. It would just take clever searching. You can get detectors to find these devices from their wireless signal, this is a website that sells them quite cheap: Just search for 'hidden camera' and the first few results are detectors. Note that if there are any wifi signals around they'll get picked up on the detectors as well...

Are there any laws in USA about eavesdropping on walkie talkie conversations?

How do i stop people from eavesdropping on my PC?

A. Turn it off for a while may help. Some people tried to ping into your machine. If you turn your machine off, they would ping to other machine. Since you are using Safari, you may use Mac. Then, you can change the setting of the build-in firewall to reject all. For strong protection, you may check something called VPN, cryptography software etc. If your ISP got VPN service, you should enroll into it; then all communication of you via your ISP would be encrypted. No one could get the real information except you and your friends. You should encrypt some important files. However, encryption got problems: you need to change keys periodically and re-encrypt your files again. You may check on to get some basic hints.

How do you feel about individuals or groups eavesdropping on your computer surfing etc?
Q. How do you feel about individuals or groups eavesdropping on your computer surfing etc? How do you feel about someone online convincing you to do stuff over the internet that they might hold against you at some future date? An individual or group of individuals may be public, private or governmental with or without sanction by their own authorities. One reason I ask this is that I get the impression that someone may have access to what I look at or post on the internet past, present or future. So at any time; past, present or future, someone could look up what I had on my monitor and pass judgement in their own mind whether actually qualified to do so or not. Q. What is the difference between spying and eavesdropping?
Asked by Blood Rayne - Tue Apr 7 11:16:36 2009 - - 8 Answers - 0 Comments
A. I believe that spying requires that you take an action to obtain information that you would not have had without such action. Eavesdropping is taking advantage of an opportunity to overhear a conversation that you were not involved in.

Do you think Bush is eavesdropping on your computer when you are linked to the web?
Q. With all of the cookies and spyware out there, don't you think that Bush and the government monitor your internet activity and even tap into your computer? What is the sentence guidelines for eavesdropping, recording(a udio)w/o permission in Florida?
Q. they have been slandering me and i attempted to get proof. their door was open so i stood outside and had a recorder picking it up EDIT: W/O permission It was outside on the common sidewalk of our apartments which are next to each other- they were talking loud enough to hear through the concrete walls. they leave their door open most of the time.
Asked by Bethany - Sun Jul 26 18:01:03 2009 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments
A. I'm going to qualify this by saying upfront that it depends on where this occurred and whether you were there legally, but... Recording a conversation taking place in a place where you're legally present isn't a violation of Florida or federal law. So... There are not sentencing guidelines as "eavesdropping" in and of itself isn't a criminal offense. There might be something if you were unlawfully present and there may be some issues revolving around admissibility depending on the circumstances, though.

What would you do if you caught your wife eavesdropping on your phone calls?
Q. My mom called, and for once it was me that picked up the phone first. I noticed a "handset in use" warning on the phone, indicating the other phone was off the hook. After the call I ran upstairs to check and I'm pretty sure I caught my wife eavesdropping. I'm wondering how to confront her about this. We've been separated off and on over the course of our marriage. Nope - didn't cheat on her. She's insecure though because of our age difference (she's 13 years older) and various other things.

Q. Why is listening in on a private conversation called eavesdropping?
Asked by Boy Bawang - Tue May 13 03:19:57 2008 - - 4 Answers - 0 Comments
A. In medieval times, houses didn t have roof gutters to carry off rainwater; instead they had eaves, which are the lower wide projecting edges of a sloping roof. These eaves protected the mud walls from damage from the rain dropping from the roof. If, during a sudden shower, someone sought cover by standing under an eave, they could hear everything that the people inside were saying. They were eavesdropping.

Is there any law that outlaws personal eavesdropping?
Q. Thoughts... And personal eavesdropping as if one party was surveilling another parties private conversation, no government involved
Asked by Anon Y. Mouse - Tue Mar 11 02:26:27 2008 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments
A. I guess it would depend on the reason you want to listen in on a private conversation that you weren't a part of. Of course, if you recorded that conversation & the parties involved didn't know about it, you could get in trouble. There aren't any criminal laws banning eavesdropping. You might also consider any civil liabilities you could have if any of a private conversation is used to embarrass or slander the other person. Other than that, a private conversation between two people just might not be any of your business.
